Meg the arm sucker

Well some kids suck their two fingers, some suck their thumb, some use pacifiers, and some even use their arm (well, at least my daughter does). Yes, it is weird, but hey what can I say, someone didn't want her to take a paci and someone didn't want her to suck her thumb...so, now since birth she has sucked her arm. Last winter we were excited she would be wearing looooongggg sleeves so she could not suck her arm, but she just pushed those sleeves right on up and got what she wanted. We have told her she looks like a baby, and she simply replied, "I not a baby!". We have told her that she was leaving a big red spot on her arm, and she would stop for a couple seconds then plop that arm right back into her mouth. Craziness, but we have found the solution!! BUBBA TEETH...bubba teeth you may ask?? Well, someone told us how they broke their daughter's habit of sucking their thumb by pulling out bubba teeth and showing her them and telling her if she didn't quit her teeth would look like that. So, while at my mother's house we pulled out Michael's "bubba teeth" and showed Meg. She began to look at them nervously as we began to tell her that her teeth would look like that if she didn't stop sucking her arm. Ever since then, she doesn't suck her arm, occasionally she will plop it in and all I have to says is "Your teeth" and she takes it out and says, "my teeth will be ugly". It is kinda funny. She is such a drama queen and she loves to look pretty. She will say "Mommy, I pretty like a princess." So, the rotten bubba teeth are so working!!! Yes, she wants to be a pretty princess with pretty teeth!=)
