[My Earthquake Story]

[Thought I'd share whats on my mind with my new speech bubble. :) Thanks Mary for drawing the prelims. and Thanks to the hubs for cutting it out.]

Man, what a gorgeous day it was today. Little did I know, I was going to get thrown a curveball. I was at Target when it happened. I was in the kid's "school" section to be exact. To be even more exact, I was in the "school" section in the very back of the store. I was waiting on Meg to pick out a folder for her school work. And all of the sudden everything started to shake. I mean really shake. It was very frightening. There was a sound. A weird sound. I grabbed my kid's and ran out of the isle and just stood in the middle of the main walkway. I looked at the ground and I promise you, I saw it moving. So freaky, so so scary. It was unreal. Everything was shaking. Kid's started crying. Peoples' faces had the look of terror. Mine included. I got a lightheaded feeling, my legs felt like jelly...mercy, then it was over. It seemed like forever. It seemed like an eternity. After, I couldn't calm down. I kept shaking, my legs kept feeling like jelly. My belly began to hurt. I looked around, almost every isle had things either broken or objects just thrown on the ground. Ty picked up the metal cover from the water spicket from up above. Meg picked up a cereal box. I just stood there and looked, and shook. It was so, so very scary. I don't ever want to go through that again! Mercy. I tried to call my honey. No calls out...I received text messages, but couldn't call anyone. Granny called to see if we were all right and I was shocked when I heard my phone ring.

I finally got a hold of James. He was fine. He was evacuated from his building in Va. I was fine. The kids were fine. Thank the Lord for His protection. It could have been alot worst. It was a 5.9 magnitude earthquake. I will never, ever forget it.

bwahahaha. My friend posted this on facebook. Made me crack up laughing, even though I was terrified during the whole shaking part!

When I got home...I had a mess to clean up. It made things fall of my wall, Vector's fish bowl was on the ledge of the dresser (so, glad it didn't fall), Things just looked disheveled. I didn't realize how much damage had taken place until I walked up stairs and opened my bathroom door about 3 hours later. It had shook our shelf completely over and everything that was in it was everywhere. It broke our new air vent cover. But that was the worst of the damage. :) So glad that was it. At first, I thought the only thing that "fell" was the Kix cereal box in the kitchen. I had to laugh. :) But still, Praise the Lord it wasn't any worse!

You scare me. And you make me laugh. That must be why we are friends. =0) Yes, the earthquake was weird...our cabinet doors started flapping and all of the dishes were rattling and moving forward. So glad it didn't last long!
