[The Best Driver EVER]

Sometimes my driving capabilities fail me....
but other times I thrive when I drive. [what. what.]

I have several driving stories that are quite humorous, QUITE. I decided to share a few, and am wondering am I the only one in this very world that these things happen too. I have had several peoples accuse me of being a "blonde". I am very much not a "blonde". Mind you, these stories are quite embarrassing, after I share I might go hid in my closet and not return. :]

As you all know I am now holding a Maryland State Driver's license.[cheer, clap, stomp, stomp, SCREAM]  I feel quite lucky. I thought I was following in my grandma's footsteps and going to get my license in my forties, but I succumbed and managed to acquire mine in my late, late twenties. [i am so old] Anywho, many a things have happened that I thought I would never ever share with people. But today your lucky because I'm gonna share. Your super lucky, and you can't wait to hear my SUPER cool stories.

I really had not pumped gas before, maybe a couple of times...probably couldn't even count the times on my ten fingers. I drove up to the gas pump and thought I could handle it. Well, I couldn't. You see I got my check card out to pay and put it in what I thought was the card slot, but come to find out it was the receipt slot. Boy, how embarrassing. I saw a cop and asked for help, I thought for sure I had got it stuck in the card slot. The cop kindly told me I should ask a employee who worked there to help me out. I did. The employee kindly got his key and opened the receipt slot and pulled out my card. Not until I saw the receipt roll inside the receipt holder/slot did I realize I had done something SUPER genius. I instantly felt stupid. The kind employee kept reassuring me that it could happen to anybody. :] To this day, I still make sure I'm placing my card in the right slot. :] I wonder what that cop thought??! :/

Not to long ago [cough. cough. 2 days ago cough, cough] I had to ask someone to back my truck out of the parking slot. This too was embarrassing. You see the car next to me seemed to keep getting closer and closer when I was trying to park my monster of a truck straight.  After handing my truck back over to me, the kind lady had compassion for me and told me to "drive safely". Of course, I replied...[in my head] :]

I've run into fences, and scraped up alongside of cement light poles...but hey, I'm still alive. :] I honk at people occasionally to feel like I know what I'm doing. :] It's SO fun to drive. If you ever need a ride let me know. tehehehe.

All funnyness aside, I get super nervous when driving...especially when my kiddos are with me. I try to be extra careful. I pray alot too. :]

Wow. That was so much fun to read. :)

If we come up for a visit, can we have a ride?

Absolutely hysterical! You are such a mess. Sounds like me when I first began to drive. I once had to get someone to move my car too! This was years and years ago, but still...now I don't feel so dumb! =) I put a huge dent in our old blue car about 6 years ago when I backed up and hit a dumpster. I've done my fair share of bumping into stuff that's for sure. Thankfully never anything major! I'm getting brave enough to drive on the highway now after avoiding it for the last 9 years! It's funny you mentioned you get more nervous when the kids are with you. I actually feel more safe when they're with me...it's like I'm more scatterbrained when I'm alone.

Goodness, stories like these make me miss you so much! I hate it that we don't live closer..we'd have so much fun! And probably get into a lot of trouble too! =)

Love ya girl. Thanks for making me laugh!!

Oh gosh, I haven't driven since we came back to Paraguay. I still get super nervous...I wonder if that ever goes away?
