A Quick Update on Ty

For all you who do not know...my little sweet Ty was born with clubfoot...both of his feet were turned in and up. He started getting casted around two weeks old. His feet were in cast (all the way up to about the middle of his thigh) for twelve weeks...doesn't sound long, but it seemed like forever! Then he had surgery at 3 months old. He was a great baby, never really fussy. The only times he didn't enjoy was when we had to soak the cast off every Sunday night in warm vinegar water (the doc. said it was to take about 15 min., yeah right!!!! it took almost two hours the first time we soaked them off!) then on Monday mornings getting recasted, because the docs. had to bend his feet downward. Other than that he was great!!! He was always happy and bubbly, most of the time anyway.

Well, Praise the Lord, we went in today for his checkup at Georgetown University Hospital to see if he would need surgery again to help the correcting...but Doc. Delehey said from the x ray's his feet are looking great!!! He said he should not need another surgery!!! Praise the Lord! I have been praying for a very long time that his special shoes would correct them, instead of surgery!!! You just do not know how happy I am!! Also, my little Ty can wear real shoes now for the first time!! The doc. said he wants Ty to wear his camo shoes at night until he walks...then it is adios to the camo boots!!!=) I love seeing my Tyler's cute little legs, feet, and toes. Also, I am so grateful to God for letting my little baby boy be born here in America. Some missionaries in our church said that over in Nigeria, kids that are born with clubfoot, just grow up with not ever correcting it, they end up walking on their ankles. So, Praise the Lord!!!

Still pray for his one stubborn foot. Doc. Delehey said he is going to keep his eye on that foot. Ty still likes to turn it in...but it goes down like a normal foot. So, pray that his feet continue to stay the way they are. Thank you for all your prayers!

Here is Ty with his cast on...

Yeah, I'm free...see!!!

Tyler loves for his shoes to be off!!! He basically was to wear his AFO's 24/7, so that means we hardly ever saw his little cute feet!!!=)

The Norm for Mr. T...always happy!!!

Oh by the way, many famous sports stars were born with the same clubfoot that my Ty was born with, Troy Aikman, Mia Hamm, Kristi Yamaguchi. I can already tell he is going to be my little b-ball player. =)
